Pearl Tears

The work inspired by a poem:

席慕蓉〈蚌與珠〉

無法消除那創痕的存在

於是 用温熱的淚液

你將昔日層層包裹起來

那記憶卻在你懷中日漸

晶瑩光耀 每一轉側

都來觸動痛處

使回首的你愴然老去

在深深的靜默的 海底

A pearl is a product of pain, reminding me of how suffering can help people mature. I repeatedly dip the oyster shell in liquid plaster to create layers, placing a transparent film beneath the shell to capture the 'tears' that emerge during the process.
